SECRET NAIL/TOP NAIL INSTALLATION
Floor boards 95 mm wide or under, can be ‘secret’ nailed by nailing or stapling through the tongue of the board. Secret nailing profiles are available or the nails can be driven at an angle through the tongue of standard profile boards. Wider boards of up to 130 mm are top-nailed.
Overlay Floor: also known as slim wood is similar to that of normal floor board, with the exception of thickness (usually 10 mm to 14 mm). It may be secret nailed combine with glue to plywood or particle board; or glued down to concrete floor.
For both hardwood and engineered floating floors, we recommend a gap of approximately 10 mm be allowed between the wall and floor to allow for expansion.
